We’re searching for a seasoned, innovative, and performance-driven Director of Marketing Strategy to lead marketing strategy creation, client success initiatives, and cross-team collaboration. This role demands a balance of strategic insight, client-facing expertise, and team leadership. This position will initially report directly to the CEO, for training and expectation setting purposes.

We’re looking for a Marketing Strategist to join our high-performing team and help push the boundaries of marketing strategy and execution.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Marketing Leadership (70% of your time):
  • Design and Innovate: Collaborate with the internal team and clients on implementations of cutting-edge inbound and paid marketing strategies, including email campaigns, blogging, SEO, Google Ads, social media, retargeting, and programmatic marketing.
  • Client Dialogue: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their goals, outcomes, and budget constraints to design tailored marketing strategies that will be executed by the One Firefly team.
  • Data-Driven Problem Solver: Analyze client feedback, assess marketing performance data, and make informed recommendations to drive sales, upgrades, and client retention.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with the Corporate Programs Team to design strategic campaigns that align with manufacturer goals, timelines, and budgets. Provide expert marketing guidance, campaign rescopes, and data-driven recommendations to optimize performance. Evaluate aggregated data from multiple accounts to refine strategies during campaigns and contribute to comprehensive post-campaign analyses with actionable insights.
  • Support Sales Excellence: Work with Account Executives and prospective clients, providing authoritative support to defend and articulate recommended marketing strategies balancing their business objectives and budget constraints.
  • Strategic Problem-Solver: Identify gaps in our product offerings and skill set, collaborating closely with the Innovation Manager to develop and implement effective solutions that drive growth and enhance our competitive edge.
  • Client Retention Specialist: Serve as a key resource during critical moments to support Account Managers in mitigating client churn risks. Take charge by gathering insights, addressing client concerns, and delivering actionable solutions to foster retention and satisfaction. Act as a trusted advisor by coaching, consulting, and educating clients, ensuring they feel empowered to adopt and upgrade marketing strategies that align seamlessly with their business objectives.
Team Leadership and Development (30% of your time):
  • Team Management: Directly manage two team leads that encompass the following departments: Social Media, Social Ads, Live Chat, and Google Advertising. Fostering an environment of growth, innovation, and accountability.
  • Mentorship and Oversight: Inspire and guide team members to excel in delivering exceptional results, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay at the forefront of best practices in designing and architecting Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Meta Ads campaigns. Bring hands-on experience and certifications (preferred) to ensure mastery and offer coaching to our internal team of experts. Embrace a detail-oriented approach, diving deep into the intricacies of campaign strategy, execution, and optimization.
Who You Are
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degrees or certifications in marketing are a plus.
  • Marketing Veteran: Bring 15+ years of proven experience in marketing agencies, with a strong track record of developing and executing effective, results-driven marketing strategies for a large portfolio of small businesses serving local markets.
  • Multi-Channel Expertise: Proven experience with inbound and paid marketing channels, including SEO, Google Ads, social media, programmatic marketing, email marketing, landing page performance and more.
  • Client Whisperer: Adept at client-facing communication with a friendly yet authoritative style, capable of translating complex strategies into clear and actionable recommendations as proven by track record.
  • Team Leader: 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, guiding diverse teams to success with a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and innovation.
  • Certified Professional: Google Ads, Meta certifications, MSN, SEM Rush, Market Muse and LinkedIn Marketing Labs Certification for LinkedIn Ads are strongly preferred.
  • Educator at Heart: Passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge through webinars and live on stage presentations. Skilled at breaking down complex concepts into actionable insights that resonate with diverse audiences.
