About Us

One Firefly is an award-winning marketing agency catering to technology professionals in residential and commercial markets. Our team of creative, technical, and strategic experts exclusively serve technology companies, which means we’ve developed in-depth knowledge of the industry and long-standing relationships and partnerships with industry leaders during our 15+ years in business. We’ve grown and changed (for the better) tremendously since our founding in 2007. Today, we’re proud to claim that One Firefly is a four-time honoree on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in the U.S.

At One Firefly, we’re passionate about the work we do and the clients we serve. Our purpose is to help people feel proud, prosperous, and connected. To achieve this purpose, we care for and invest significantly into our team members. We also cultivate partnerships with our clients, by developing and implementing the marketing strategies that help them achieve (and exceed) their growth goals. Being intentional, with both internal and external relationships, is how we’ve built the thriving organization we are today.

Our Story: How We Built One Firefly

Ron Callis founded One Firefly with a desire to help business owners in the AV and integration space solve their business challenges. In 2007, he founded Firefly Design Group, which provided system design and documentation services to clients worldwide. Within a few years, Ron came to recognize the industry’s need for targeted marketing services. Ron believed he could leverage his deep knowledge of the custom integration space, combined with hard-won entrepreneurial experience, to design powerful marketing strategies to drive growth for technology businesses. In 2012, the company rebranded as One Firefly, operating all services and solutions under that singular brand. By 2015, Ron reimagined his business and began to pivot away from engineering and programming, and expand marketing services and solutions. Follow our journey to see how One Firefly has evolved to become the award-winning, industry-leading marketing agency it is today.

2007

Open For Business
Ron and his wife Danielle gathered the courage and developed the strategy to launch Firefly Design Group in November 2007. At first, the company had just four employees: Ron in sales, a system designer, a graphic designer, and Ron’s wife Danielle, who helped manage the finances.

2008

Heading to the CEDIA Expo
With no booth at the Expo, the Firefly Design Group team conducts meetings wherever free space is available. Ron walks the floor seeking integrators to promote design and project documentation services.

2009

Expanding Our Services
As the Firefly Design Group customer base grows, the company incorporates marketing along with the existing project documentation services. The new expanded service offering is presented at the industry’s premier trade show, CEDIA, for the first time.

2010

A Pinnacle in Design
Firefly Design Group features its project design solutions in the most expensive (at the time) residential project in the United States: Playa Vista, located in Hillsboro Mile, FL. The company collaborates with Theo Kalomirakis and IMAX to deploy the first IMAX private theater sale in the world within the residence.

2011

Expanding the Company Scope
Firefly Design Group unveils new Firefly Creative and Firefly Programming sub-brands at CEDIA for the first time. At the Expo showroom, the company debuts new website offerings and a sales portfolio product that becomes the flagship marketing solution in the industry.

2012

One Firefly is Born
One Firefly, LLC is formed when Firefly Design Group merges with an investment by AV industry veteran, Federico Bausone. The newly minted One Firefly becomes the official North American rep for the German Software company innea’s virtual showroom product. The company goes international with appearances at trade shows in Mexico and Amsterdam.

2013

Acquiring the Best
One Firefly secures its most prominent marketing client yet in Audio Command Systems, the largest residential integrator in the United States. The company’s internal acquisitions are just as vital, bringing on Taylor as much-needed muscle to drive One Firefly’s finances and operations.

2014

Mercury Collection Arrives
One Firefly releases the Mercury Collection website solution, which wins the CE Pro BEST award at CEDIA. The Mercury Collection is the first mobile responsive website for technology integrators, with three design models featuring 30 pre-architected pages.

2015

Embracing a Remote Model
One Firefly closes its Hollywood office and decides to go remote while incorporating a focus on team gatherings and training opportunities to cultivate a strong company culture. Mercury Collection also picks up its second CEDIA accolade: The Excite Award.

2016

Making Big Moves for the Future
One Firefly consolidates its sub-brands under one brand and launches the new onefirefly.com website. The company expands its presence in the industry by joining the Azione Unlimited and Pro Source buying groups and launching two brand-new marketing solutions for technology integrators: UI University and Lead Concierge.

2017

Marketing Takes Center Stage
One Firefly completes its first full year with marketing-only revenue. As the company doubles down on growth, it continues hosting dedicated in-person team trainings and showcases its products at a wide range of industry events.

2018

A New Expansion Milestone
One Firefly embraces its remote workforce and stages its first team event outside of South Florida. The team tours client projects and showrooms in Austin, TX, and attends professional development training at the University of Texas. This year also sees the introduction of the company’s Review Champ product.

2019

Leading With Excellent Service
One Firefly’s account managers meet in Colorado for a training session focused on delivering exceptional client experiences through a customer-centered approach and monthly marketing review meetings. The company extends its media offerings with the industry-focused Mercury Pro Media Library featured in its new Mercury Pro website product.

2020

Facing New Challenges
One Firefly kicks off the year with a team event in New York City that includes private tours of the Savant and Sonos showrooms and the near-by Crestron headquarters. The company expands its industry presence by joining the HTSA buying group and focuses on developing specialized content and marketing strategies to help clients deal with economic uncertainty due to the coronavirus.

2021

The Residential Industry Booms
Despite economic challenges due to COVID-19, the residential industry booms, as does One Firefly. The company brings fresh talent and experience to its leadership team with Andrew and Jessica, makes the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies for the second year in a row, launches a new Google Ads product, and achieves a year of record growth.

2022

Back Together Again
In-person events commence again after two years. One Firefly hosts an all-staff team event in Dallas, TX, then brings the entire team to the CEDIA Expo. This year, the company officially expands into the commercial market and joins NSCA, partners with Sony to launch a marketing program that sets the industry standard on how manufacturers can support dealers, launches its new Video Pioneer service, and becomes a three-time honoree on the Inc. 5000 list.

2023

Pivoting For Growth To Meet Economic Uncertainties
One Firefly begins the year by launching its new corporate website, a massive project that’s been in the works since mid-2022. Additionally, One Firefly wins the HTA Product of the Year award for Video Pioneer and expands its paid advertising offerings with the launch of LinkedIn and MSN ad services. In July, the team will meet in Denver, CO, for an all-staff event. The company plans to grow this year by expanding its sales team and attending a record number of industry events (both here and abroad).

Fireflies With Our Clients & Partners

Meet some of our clients and industry partners — they are the reason we do what we do every day! We love getting the chance to interact in person at industry events throughout the year.

"Your marketing is a sales person"

“The advice I would give to integrators is don't cut your marketing budget. So many times, in tough times, the first thing that gets slashed is the marketing budget. When realistically, your marketing budget is a sales person. So it's really important to invest in that. And when you invest in that, you also have to invest in someone who is going to give you the tools and the metrics and the accountability behind what it is that you're doing, so you know your marketing is working. You need to understand those metrics, and you have to be able to look at them and know that this is the direction you want to go. So I would say jump in, headfirst, and go for it.”
