Facebook Frequently Asked Questions

Many of our clients have questions about Facebook from, “How often do I post?” to “Is there really any value in using Facebook?” In this blog, we’ll answer some of those frequently asked questions. Whether your staff members post to Facebook or you currently work with One Firefly to grow your customer engagement, this article will provide answers to some of the most common Facebook questions.

What Kind Of Content Should I Post On Facebook?

It is best practice to post articles from a variety of sources, not just links to your own website or posts about your own products. The reasoning is that if you are always posting about your company, it may come off to your audience as too "salesy." Instead be a part of the conversation, talk with your audience not at them.

By posting a variety of relevant articles from online magazines in the industry (like CEPro, Electronic House, and CNET) in addition to your own content, you position yourself as a thought leader and engage with not only your audience, but also other industry thought leaders.

Keep in mind that you should thoroughly review the article you want to post beforehand, because if it doesn’t exactly align with your values, goals, or lists your competitors, it is probably best not to link to it. We recommend you also post photos of your latest projects, information about your employees or partners, and snapshots of your team working in the field.

How Often Should I Post On Facebook?

According to Hubspot, companies that have less than 10,000 followers and posted 60 times a month received 60 percent fewer clicks per post. Don't overwhelm your customers with content on Facebook, and be selective about what you're publishing. In other words, spend more time crafting better quality Facebook posts, and worry less about quantity. We recommend 5-10 posts a month for integrators, at least. You'll also want to target your content to a specific audience. People are more likely to click on posts that are relevant to their interests and needs.

How Do I Grow My Facebook Page Likes?

According to Forbes Magazine, the most common reason people unlike a page is because the posts are uninteresting or irrelevant to their personal interests. Create engaging content that includes images and videos. You can also comment and engage with other pages in your industry to increase new likes from important people and businesses. Facebook advertising is another way to increase your page likes. To entice new fans, create a contest or offer discounts for joining your email list and liking your page. And of course, make sure that Facebook icon is on your website and in your email signature.

Should I Have Multiple Facebook Pages To Promote Different Locations?

Facebook is a global social media platform. Billions of people all over the world use it every day, but you don’t have to create multiple business pages to reach the cities you want to target. First, if you have two or more pages, this can be confusing to your audience and they may wonder which page is the real one. It could also make you seem disorganized. Create one business page and list all of the cities you work in on the about section. Then create different Facebook posts to target people from all of your locations and use Facebook advertising to target all of your markets.

We Were Included In A Section Of A Local Magazine, Is It A Good Idea To Post This On Our Facebook Page?

Local coverage is always a nice thing to share with your Facebook fans. Not only are you showing them that you company is respected and trusted in the community, but you are also providing them with engaging content. If you are ever approached by the press, whether it’s local or national media, jump at the opportunity to be featured in a newspaper or magazine. It will be a bit of extra work on your part to provide the details of your company or latest project, but it will pay off in the long run. You’ll also get some bragging rights, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Is There Really Any Value In Using Facebook For Business?

Facebook has more than 1.55 billion active users, so creating a business page opens up a big opportunity to connect with people in your area. You may view Facebook as only a way for people to shout their views on a digital soap box or share photos of their kids and kittens, but this social media giant is driving more traffic to news websites than Google. With that much engagement, there is infinite potential to drive traffic to your website and gain new customers. If you’re not an active Facebook user, or don’t even like it, the truth stands that establishing a presence on Facebook will grow your brand, increase your Web traffic, and establish important connections.
